REFLECTION

Experience:

Throughout these modules, I had the opportunity to explore various aspects of typography. It's a rare opportunity for me to engage in hands-on exercises and learned historical contexts, which enriched my understanding and creativity in typography. The Adobe InDesign tutorial allowed me to learn more practical skills, such as setting up margins, selecting typefaces, and utilizing grid systems, significantly enhancing my aesthetic and design sense. These experiences enhanced my skills and appreciation for the art and functionality of typography. Some of the exercise indeed frustrated and time consuming due to the complexity, completing them bought me a immense of satisfaction.

Observation:

Before taking this module, I had never paid much attention to typography in my everyday life. However, as the course progressed, I began to observe and appreciate typography-related designs around me, such as posters, advertisements, and sign baord. I started noticing the intricacies of font choices, text formatting, and layout structures. This habit has allowed enhance my design sense escpecially composition. By analyzing the professional designs, I have been able to apply similar principles to my own work, further enhancing my understanding and skills in typography. This shift in perspective has not only improved my design capabilities but also increase my appreciation for the powerful role of typography in design. 

Findings:

The further reading section allowed me to absorb various kinds of knowledge, significantly improving my understanding of typography. I discovered that my sensitivity towards type, words, and text has significantly increased. I'm able to explore and utilise different typeface in my own work now, brought me a big improvement in my work. This deeper understanding has enabled me to make more interesting and creative choices, enhancing the visual appeal and effectiveness of my work. By integrating the insights gained from these readings, I have developed a more nuanced approach to typography, which has positively impacted my overall design skills and aesthetic sensibility.
